ELCA Youth Gathering 2024
Every three years, thousands of high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation and fellowship known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Through inspiring speakers, conversations with partners, Bible study and being immersed in the host city, young people will be inspired, challenged and called to live out their faith in their daily lives. Additionally, young people will have opportunities to explore their vocation and discern where they are being called into this world. In July 2024, the ELCA Youth Gathering, MYLE, the tAble and the Young Adult Gathering will center on the theme of "Created to Be," which comes from Psalm 139.  Watch this video to find out more!
Adult Faith Formation
The Adult Faith Formation has begun a study from Augsburg Fortress called “Heaven on Earth: Studies in Matthew.” The collection of studies from this Together in Faith Series uses a 4-pronged approach to explore scripture from a historical context, a literary context, a Lutheran context and a devotional context. All are welcome!
Luther’s Small Catechism
Join Pastor Jennifer as she leads a class during Faith Formation time in Founders Hall: Luther’s Small Catechism — It’s Not Just for Confirmation!  All interested adults are invited to join us at 9:30 AM, as we wind our way through Luther’s elegant theology to better understand our faith and how it is grounded in God’s work in Christ.
St. Timothy Men’s Group
NOTE: Currently on hiatus. Every Tuesday we have the opportunity to check in and say “hi." No pressure to speak on a particular topic or read a certain lesson, just an hour a week to mentally get out and talk about our weeks activities, concerns, aspirations, joy, etc. Please contact Thomas Aben ([email protected]) for more information and to receive the Zoom link.
Cradle Roll
When a child aged 1 month to 3 years is welcomed to St. Timothy through baptism or joins St. Timothy from another church, they are enrolled in the Cradle Roll.  The Cradle Roll uses the Splash! program published by Augsburg-Fortress, an education and nurturing program for parents. The Splash! packs cover three age ranges: 1-12 months, 13-24 months, and 25-36 months.  Each month parents will receive a mailing with age-appropriate faith-filled play, worship, meals, and prayer  activities for parents and their children, including helpful parental guidance. We encourage parents to be their child's first Faith Formation teachers as they begin their lifelong faith journey.
Adult Faith Formation Group

The class will be following the Spark: Activate Faith curriculum, which connects children with Sunday worship service through the lectionary, explores the salvation story, and introduces participants to 48 Bible stories through art, music, games, and more. Music with Mr. Alex: All grade levels will meet in the Youth Room from 9:15-9:30 with Mr. Alex. Kids will have fun playing instruments, singing songs, and dancing. Once music time is over, their classroom teacher will pick them up and take them to their classroom. Students will be with Ms. Heather and Mr. Thomas from 9:30 - 10:15 am. All classes are led by teachers trained in Safe Church and background checked.
Faith Formation High School
High School students will meet together with the Adult Faith Formation & Book Discussion class from 9:15 - 10:00 am each Sunday morning beginning September 18, 2022. In October, we will celebrate our 5th Anniversary as a Reconciling in Christ congregation. As part of this celebration, our members have been engaging in conversations about diversity and inclusion. This class will focus on the book Dear Church: A Love Letter from a Black Preacher to the Whitest Denomination in the US by Rev. Lenny Duncan. For more information, please contact Jen Yamin or Bridget Radford.
The St. Timothy Youth are very active with service activities in the community, Bible study and fellowship. Our students also participate in state and national Lutheran gatherings such as Affirm and All Tennessee. We encourage all youth from grades six through high school to join in the fun.
