On October 25, 2022, St. Timothy Lutheran Church will celebrate five years as a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) community, a community which openly embraces and welcomes all people, regardless of faith history, legal status, economic status, addiction recovery, personal history, marital status, education, age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or physical or mental abilities.
Walt Schissler, a long-time member of our congregation and wonderful artist, volunteered to create a special piece of artwork to celebrate this milestone. Walt says “As I created this piece, I was feeling that hopefully I would portray “ALL,” and I drew my inspiration from that feeling! I thought of friends and family who in the past were excluded because they were different, and I hope my interpretation honors them as well as all others who have felt excluded in any way. My prayer is that this work reflects the St. Timothy Reconciling in Christ statement.”
This beautiful piece of artwork will be blessed during our Sunday morning service on October 23rd during our special Reconciling in Christ worship service with Bishop Kevin Strickland presiding.
