In our world today, you will hear a lot about welcome and hospitality. At St. Timothy Lutheran Church, this is more than a catchphrase. “Welcome” is how we understand the Good News of Jesus Christ. Through Baptism, we are all welcomed into God’s family. We are sinners who experience grace. We are the outcast brought close. We are people who understand ourselves as flawed and who experience forgiveness. In short, we are people just like you. If you are looking for a church home – a community of faith – you are welcome here. If you are fed up with organized religion, come on in. If you are looking for a place to be fed or to feed others, St. Timothy might be for you. “Welcome” is how we understand the Gospel. On the wall as you walk in you will see a verse which is very important to us: Romans 15:7 – “Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” We hope that you will come and experience that for yourself.
We celebrate and embrace as a gift the diversity of our neighborhood and the world. We affirm that all people are created in the image of God and as beloved children of God, all are worthy of God’s love and grace. We welcome all people, regardless of faith history, legal status, economic status, addiction recovery, personal history, marital status or education. We welcome all people regardless of age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or physical or mental abilities.
