The St. Timothy Community Garden was established to provide fresh produce for non-profit organizations that distribute food to those in need. You don’t have to have a green thumb to be a part of this ministry, just a desire to help. Contact Ron Morgenstern to find out more.
When life is turned upside down, the St. Timothy Dinner Angels bring a little relief and warm comfort to our members. Whether someone has returned home from the hospital, a family has lost a loved one, or a member is experiencing a serious illness or has special needs, the Dinner Angels are ready to help with a meal for the entire household.
The Red Cross holds blood drives regularly in St. Timothy’s Founders Hall so congregation members and folks from the community can roll up their sleeves for this life-giving donation. Dates are listed well in advance in the weekly bulletin, the Weekly Update, the monthly Tidings, Facebook, and Twitter.
Keeping East Main Street beautiful! As part of the Tennessee Adopt-A-Highway program, the St. Timothy Road Warriors pull on their gloves and grab their garbage bags once a quarter to clean up our section of East Main Street in Hendersonville. Volunteers are always welcome. Scheduled on Saturday mornings four times a year, dates are announced well in advance in the monthly Tidings, weekly bulletins, and on social media.
St. Timothy works together with Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church to support their Room in the Inn program. Congregation members provide food for 15-20 men in the overnight program. In addition to serving dinner, breakfast is offered the next morning, and lunch bags are prepared and given out as well.
St. Timothy has a tool lending library to serve as a resource for those in our community who don’t have the means to purchase expensive tools that may be needed to maintain their home. While we are a relatively affluent community, there are many who spend the majority of their paycheck on housing with little left over. We have received a small grant from our Synod to kick off this project, and are in the beginning stages of building our tool inventory. If you are cleaning out your garage and have gently used tools that you would like to donate, please contact our church office! We are in need of shelving as well as items listed in the link below. We are also accepting monetary donations to purchase tools and consumables such as sandpaper – please make checks payable to St. Timothy and note in the memo section that the funds are for the tool lending library. Thank you in advance for your support of this new program!
The Men of St. Timothy (MOST) meet regularly on the fourth Saturday of the month to discuss ways they can serve the church and community. Whether it’s building shelves, moving furniture, hanging banners or cooking Easter Breakfast, MOST brings helping hands to all areas of St. Timothy.
Throughout the year, members and visitors can place food donations of canned goods and non-perishable items for the Hendersonville Samaritan Association, Gallatin Cares, and other area food pantries and non-profits in the basket provided in the narthex.
